The Blackpool Tower ‘Signs’ up to new training

Team members at The Blackpool Tower have recently completed a training course in Sign Language, enabling them to build on the high quality of their customer care and interaction.

Team members at The Blackpool Tower have recently completed a training course in Sign Language, enabling them to build on the high quality of their customer care and interaction.

The two-day course was run by Support the Deaf People and included elements on both Deaf Awareness and SSE (Sign Supported English). The group, comprising of staff from across The Blackpool Tower’s five attractions, was given a wider awareness of how to spell and use Sign, with a particular focus on Signs relevant to the business.

Kenny Mew, Acting General Manager of The Blackpool Tower, said: “We were keen to deliver this important training to key individuals within our team, and are really pleased with the progress they have made. We always strive to make The Blackpool Tower an accessible and welcoming place for everybody, and hopefully this will take our customer service to new heights!”
